The MICE industry gathers in the CCIB’s Sunset Party
One more year, the Banquet Hall and its spectacular views to the Mediterranean sea, hosted the most awaited afterwork event of the season. The Sunset Party 2016 attracted more than 600 people from work companies, DMCs, PCOs, agencies, local authorities, suppliers and friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Do you want to see the photocall?
The characteristics of the room, one of the most unique spaces in Barcelona, an open space format of 1.665 sqm and an envied terrace, allowed the attendees to unleash their imagination and ensure their comfort. They were invited to explore every corner, nuck and crany.
A recurring dream of our modern age is to live in a cleaner planet, so the guise and theme of the event was sustainability. For this reason, the organizers were determined to reuse materials (mostly recyclable) for decoration, to use local products thoughfully sourced for the Food & Beverage service and, basically, to appeal to the senses of the audience, the best way to reconnect with the Mother Earth.
The soirée wanted to contribute to environmental protection
Without relinquishing the recreational component of the event, the CCIB placed the emphasis on its environmental commitment as much as possible and, consistently, integrated it into the decoration and the gastronomic proposal. There were sensorial experiences related to the purest nature (video projectons with sprouting flowers while the attendees were passing by, a huge screen with images of waterfalls and nature) and responsible decoration (a huge tree made of alushape and real hanging plants was noteworthy in the centre of the room, there were bars made of pallets and wood or carpet reused from previous events). The Food & Beverage service was also based on local products thoughfully sourced: wine from cooperative l’Olivera, Ganxet beans, Montserrat tomato, ribeye from Girona, squid from Vilanova…
Likewise, it was a carbon neutral event, as the CCIB calculated the CO2 emissions that were generated during the event and they have been compensated in a project located in Brazil that replaces the native wood from the Amazon area by renewable biomass used in the ceramics industry.
Certainly, with an unprecedented deployment, in its seventh edition, the Sunset Party has set again a high standard. That’s evidenced by the photocall and the smiles of the attendees.
