Marc Rodríguez, re-elected as a member of the APCE Executive Committee
Our General Manager, Marc Rodríguez, has been re-elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Association of Conference Centers (APCE) at the general assembly held last January 22 at IFEMA (Madrid), coinciding with the International Tourism Trade Faire (FITUR).
The organization has renewed the management team after completing the electoral process started on December 20. During the annual assembly, directors and heads of conference centers unanimously ratified the new management team. The new Committee is chaired by Iker Goikoetxea, managing director of the Kursaal center in San Sebastián while the Vice President and the General Secretary are Javier Lacunza Arraiza (Managing Director of BALUARTE, in Navarra) and Belén Mann Cerdeira (Director of Conventions of IFEMA). Our General Manager, Marc Rodríguez, is a member of the board along with Yolanda de Aguilar Rosell (director of the Malaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre, FYCMA), Sylvia Andrés Guilló (managing director of the Valencia Conference Centre) and Carlos García Espinosa (director of the Cadiz Conference and Exhibition Centre).
The APCE was founded in 1995, 25 years ago, with 21 associated venues. It is currently formed by 32 conference centers with new challenges ahead to boost the sector and act as the backbone of congress and meeting tourism. The new president of the Association stressed that “the venues that make up APCE host the most important events in this country and this association must live up to this reality.” In this sense, some strategic objectives of the new management team will be to enhance APCE’s representativeness in the meetings and events industry, promote the professional development of the teams of the member centers and reinforce studies and research on the sector.
