More than 1,000 guests (public officials, representatives from Japanese and international companies, customers and partners) attended the inauguration ceremony and had the opportunity to discover the various spaces provided by this new multi-purpose event venue.

More than 1,000 guests (public officials, representatives of Japanese and international companies, customers and partners) attended the inauguration. With 60,000m² of exhibition area, a conference center and large outdoor spaces, the Aichi Sky Expo can host all kinds of events, trade exhibitions, consumer fairs, conventions, congresses and concerts. It has 5G network, 6 multipurpose rooms of 10,000 m², 18 meeting and conference rooms and nearly 4,000 parking spaces. The modern facilities and the high-speed Internet network of the site make it especially suitable for game competitions. Also, it has a shopping center, restaurants, tourist attractions and 4,000 hotel rooms that offer additional benefits for both business visitors and tourists.

Managed by GL events in partnership with Maeda Corporation, the Aichi Sky Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre is a key component of GL events’ development strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. It will act as an anchoring point for deploying all the Group’s business lines, particularly with a view to the major upcoming sporting events to be held in Japan, notably the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

New site in Brazil

GL events also obtained from the municipality of Salvador de Bahia (Brazil), a 25 years concession to operate its new convention center. The new center will be finished by the end of 2019 and includes a functional building of 15,000 m² and an outside space of 12,000 m² with a capacity for 20,000 attendees. Salvador is the fourth most populated city in the country, the largest city in northeastern Brazil and historically the third country tourist destination in the country after São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, cities where GL events also manage different centers.
