A festival with more than 100 concerts and Diana Krall’s great kick off

October 17 will be etched on the memory of the 3,000 people who sold out tickets of the concert in which the Canadian singer and pianist presented her new album “Turn up the quiet”. After the success of 2015, the Forum Auditorium witnessed once again the solvency of one of the great artists of the current jazz scene in its most amiable version. The architecture and acoustics of the space were, without a doubt, an exceptional complement for this special event.

Diana Krall cultivates her charisma and empathy on stage, but at the same time, she is one of the artists with the highest reputation among musical critics. With an extensive repertoire that starts from her jazz origins, she is capable of capturing a large range of musical tastes but never mainstream. A loyal public embraces her new proposals without hesitation and, as if it was a tradition during her visits to Barcelona, she is able to fill the largest auditorium in the city to the brim.

49 Barcelona International Voll-Damm Jazz Festival

Until mid-December, one of the most courageous and solid initiatives of TheProject develops a strong program for all tastes. The Barcelona Jazz Festival contains exhibitions, master classes and jam sessions and, of course, an exciting line-up of concerts at the highest level.

Tito Ramoneda, director of the festival, assures that this is one of the best editions, “super modern and to taste without limits. People will find the great names, the essential ones that will fill the spaces of large capacity, but I encourage the public to be curious and risk discovering emerging proposals, to live different musical experiences in small singular spaces and to be encouraged to live the complementary activities”. 117 concerts, more than 400 musicians, 21 halls and spaces and 15 master classes will delight the public once again.
